Statement regarding the unauthorised sale of non-compliant Grobag® baby sleeping bags in the Australian market

It has come to our attention that a small number of grobag® baby sleeping bags that had been rejected by our Quality Control process have subsequently been offered for sale through various Australian internet auction sites and market stalls. (These products may have first been presented for sale in approximately Sept 2007).

The products affected by this issue are listed below:

• Sam Bear 0-6 & 6-18 months 1.0 tog – Towelling lining on the outside of the bag.
• Home Grown Baby 0-6 & 6-18 months 1.0 tog – Towelling lining on the inside of the bag. This is the non-organic cotton product made in China only.
• Pink, Yellow and Blue Gingham 0-6 & 6-18 months 2.5 tog – Quilted product with a multi-coloured neck label.
• Pink and Blue Country Gingham 0-6 & 6-18 months 1.0 tog – Towelling lining on the inside of the 1.0 tog bag.

These particular products failed to meet our high quality standards when during the manufacturing process we discovered incorrect materials had been used. All of the products can easily be identified by the fact that they do not have the correct red or white fire warning labels sewn into the neck of the baby sleeping bag. The 1.0 tog products all utilise cotton towelling (inside or outside) which are no longer used in the manufacture of our current product range. The 2.5 tog products have a wadding that is effectively a 2.0 tog and not 2.5 tog as indicated. Additionally these products may have been packaged showing the incorrect tog rating on the packaging.

The best way to avoid purchasing one of the affected products is to only purchase through an approved retailer. If you feel that you have been sold one of the above mentioned products it is advised that you return it to the point of sale for a refund. We would like to emphasise that all grobag® baby sleeping bag products that are sold through our approved retail outlets are unaffected by this situation.
